Wool Redwork Tie-on Pocket
Course Description
Ever frustrated your outfit doesn’t have pockets? Or pockets big enough for your phone? This class takes inspiration from the tradition of tie-on pockets, in vogue from the 1600’s through the 1800’s. Redwork is a beautiful, historical tradition that uses a limited number of stitches to create beautiful, understated designs. For ours, we’ll be stitching with techniques for wool embroidery, using hand dyed yarn from the instructor’s sheep.
