It’s that time of year again…Ostober!!!  Join Kim for this year’s project: an Os Style Mangle Board.   We will explore the origins and stories surrounding the mangle board (or do you say  “Mangletre”)…and then paint a delightful Os design on one of our own.

Here’s what you will need:

First:  You will need to order your board and horse shaped handle ASAP from Mike Lusk so you have it in time for class.

Background Paint:  Americana Lamp Black or any black you choose

You can paint the bevel in red earth, white, turquoise, or really any color.
I painted mine in JoSonja Red Earth

Please have your piece backgrounded prior to class.

Cad yellow Light                                                      
Cadmium Yellow Deep                                        
Cadmium Red Light                                                              
Thalo Blue (Grumbacher)                    
Crimson Lake (Holbien) or Carmin (Rembrandt)   
Yellow Ochre 

Acrylic Paint Color Suggestions (I use mostly JoSonja brand)     

Black
Titanium White
Arylide Yellow
Vermillion
Thalo blue, Ultramarine blue or Cobalt blue
Permanent Alizarin
Yellow Oxide
Green Oxide or other bright green

Brushes
I use filberts but you can use your favorite style
Filbert size 2, 4, 6 (8 nice but optional)
Liner ( script or mid liner of your choice…I use a script liner)
Size 1 and 2
Scharff Teardrop brush size medium or # 1 round (for teardrops)                             

Other Supplies
Tracing paper
Palette paper
Palette Knife
Artist Grade Linseed oil or walnut alkyd medium (for oil painters)
Any mediums you need (for acrylic painters)
Brush cleaner (oil painters)
Any other supplies you usually use…

A little Information:

You will receive the design pattern and the photos via email 2-3 weeks before the first class.  The link to the zoom classes will come the week of each class so be looking for them.

IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO ATTEND, THIS CLASS IS RECORDED AND ALL REGISTRANTS WILL RECEIVE ACCESS TO THE RECORDINGS FOR MANY MONTHS.

WHEN YOU ARE NOT IN CLASS WE MISS YOU. IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO MAKE THE CLASS, WE WOULD APPRECIATE YOU SENDING US AN EMAIL.
